The Philadelphia Eagles will hold their Super Bowl victory parade on Friday, Feb. 14. The city confirmed the celebration date in a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 10.
Philly dominated the previously two-time defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in a 40-22 rout at Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9.
"They did it Philly!" the city posted immediately after the game. "Our Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions. A special season and a special team that we can all be proud of. Enjoy the win and celebrate responsibly, Philadelphia. Fly Eagles Fly 🦅."
The Eagles also posted an Instagram teaser video to build hype for the parade.
"[Broad Street] may only be 100 feet wide but we'll find a way to make room," the video's narrator said.
This will be the second Super Bowl champion parade in the City of Brotherly Love. The Eagles paraded down Broad Street in February 2018 after capturing their first Lombardi Trophy when they defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 at Super Bowl LII.
Perhaps the most iconic moment from the first parade was former center Jason Kelce's victory speech. Dressed in an outfit from the city's annual Mummers Parade, Kelce passionately defended his teammates and coaches, while calling Eagles fans "hungry dogs" who had been starved of a championship for 52 years.
The second parade will come a few days after at least 47 people were arrested in postgame celebrations throughout the city, 6abc Action News reported. Videos showed some fans climbing poles, lighting off fireworks, and igniting small fires in the streets.
The celebrations after the Eagles beat the Washington Commanders to make it to the Super Bowl were marred by the death of 18-year-old Tyler Sabapathy. The Temple University freshman and gymnast died from injuries he suffered when he fell off a light pole during the celebration on Sunday, Jan. 26.
To prepare for the post-Super Bowl crowds, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority adjusted its bus schedules to temporarily detour around certain areas where tens of thousands gathered for hours. Philly police also received several reports of vandalism to stores and garbage trucks.
The forecast appears to be almost perfect for another winter parade along Broad. Philly is forecasted to have mostly sunny skies with a high of 36 degrees on February 14, according to the National Weather Service.
The city said it'll release more details about the parade soon.
